The practice
A space held for stillness

A vision born from retreat, silence, and spiritual practice.

Shasta Sanctuary was born from years of seeking — long retreats, mountain silences, and the slow understanding that healing arrives most easily when life finally stops shouting.

It is being created for seekers, nature lovers, healers, writers, meditators, and anyone longing for a quieter, truer rhythm — a place to step away from notifications and noise, and reconnect with what matters most.

"May this be a place where meaningful pauses become real transformation."

The deeper intention

More than a stay, a return.

The heart of this project is simple, to create a sacred container for stillness, healing, and inwardness. A place where retreat is not a luxury, but a doorway back to presence.

A sanctuary shaped with soul

Shasta Sanctuary is inspired by months of silent retreat, the need for spiritual rest in an overconnected world, and the quiet knowing that healing often begins when life becomes simple again.

As the vision unfolds, the sanctuary will continue to evolve into a beautiful refuge for conscious travel, contemplative practice, and heartfelt restoration.

Our story

“The mountain asked for silence. I listened.”

How Shasta Sanctuary came into being

Shweta Singh Kirti
Founder · Author · Yogi

As a spiritual teacher, yogi, and author, I have always believed in the profound power of inner reflection and healing. After losing my brother, Sushant, I found myself deeply overwhelmed — not just by grief, but by the immense noise and pressure from the world around me. It was in those moments of feeling disconnected that I sought refuge in retreats, where silence, simplicity, and nature became my sanctuary.

During those retreats, I experienced the transformative power of stepping away from the chaos and reconnecting with myself. It wasn't just about detoxing from media; it was about healing, rediscovering joy in small moments, and finding clarity. Those experiences were pivotal in my own healing journey, and they inspired me to create something meaningful for others.

I wanted to offer more than words on a page — a place where the silence could do its quiet work.

With that inspiration, I wrote “Pain: A Portal to Enlightenment”, a book that explores how pain can lead to deeper understanding and spiritual awakening. But I knew I wanted to offer more than words on a page. I wanted to create a physical space where others could experience the same transformation I had.

This is how “Shasta Sanctuary” was born — a retreat center where individuals can unplug, heal, and rediscover joy. A sanctuary for those overwhelmed by life, the media, or personal struggles. Just as I found solace in nature and mindfulness, I wanted to offer others a place to detox from the world's demands and reconnect with themselves.

Land acknowledgment

Shasta Sanctuary rests on the ancestral homelands of the Winnemem Wintu people, who have cared for this mountain — known to them as Buliyum Puyuik — since time out of mind. We honor their ongoing presence, stewardship, and sacred relationship with the land. May our time here be in quiet respect for those who walked it first, and for those who walk it still.
